简介:
(GU) is the Director of the Environmental Futures Centre and moved to GU in 2004, having spent 10 years working at the Queensland Department of Primary Industries, where he developed and applied advanced stable isotope, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and biomolecular techniques to study important biogeochemical processes of C and nutrients in plantation and natural forest ecosystems. Prof. Xu has secured >$18m of external funding, with most coming from national competitive grants, and has sustained an excellent track record of successfully completing major national and international collaborative R&D projects. He has published 212 refereed journal and conference papers and 2 books, with 94 refereed papers (including 77 journal papers) in the past 5 years. Prof. Xu is currently co-supervisor of 5 postdoctoral and research fellows, 10 PhD students, 3 research assistants and 5 visiting scientists. Prof. Xu was a member of the ARC College of Experts (2008-10) and is the Chair for the Forest Soils Working Group of International Union of Soil Science. Prof. Xu is also a member of the ARC Research Evaluation Committee of Engineering and Environmental Science for Excellence in Australia (ERA) in 2012. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Soils and Sediments (SCI IF 2010: 2.574), Editor of Environmental Science & Pollution Research (SCI IF 2010: 2.870), and Consulting Editor of Plant and Soil (SCI IF 2010: 2.773).
