报告人简介：
Prof. Helene Wagner is a full professor of spatial ecology at University of Toronto, Canada. Prof. Wagner’s main research interest lies in understanding how human landscape modification affects biodiversity. Specifically, she is interested in how landscape heterogeneity shapes the species diversity of local plant communities by modifying ecological processes such as dispersal and inter-specific interactions. The research in Prof. Wagner lab falls into three broad topics: (i) Spatial Ecology: Assess spatial patterns within populations and communities to infer underlying processes and assembly rules, (ii) Metacommunity dynamics: Relate scale-dependent components of species diversity within and among community to landscape structure and landscape change, and (iii) Landscape Genetics: Provide a mechanistic link by testing landscape effects on gene flow.
Prof. Wagner has published around 70 SCI publications in spatial ecology, statistical ecology and landscape genetics. She is currently serving as the subject editor of Ecology and Ecological Monographs. Earlier Prof. Wagner also served as an Editor of Landscape Ecology. She is one of the major contributor of the widely used R package “vegan”. Prof. Wagner’s log-term and active research project spans from field sites in Germany, Switzerland, Canada and Chili.
