Successional serials of EBLF (5 long-term monitoring plots from the primary succession period to the advanced succession period of EBLF with an area of 50 m * 50 m for each plot, focusing on dynamics of EBLF and nutrient cycling). Forest dynamic plot (a forest plot with an area of 500 m*400 m for forest biodiversity and plant functional traits research, belongs to the Chinese forest biodiversity monitoring network).Troughfall displacement experiment plot (3 treatments: control, 70% througfall displacement, light interference, focusing on soil carbon cycle and soil microbial diversity) Nutrients fertilization experiment plot (6 treatments: control, 50N,100N, 50P, 50N+50P, 100N+50P, focusing on carbon and nutrient cycling response)Biochar addition experiment plot (3 treatments: Control, 400t, 1200t, focusing on plant growth, soil moisture, nutrient leaching, etc.).Young forest tending plots (set in several fields around our station, focusing on using ecological theory for EBLF restoration).     

    Scientists of ECNU started research in Tiantong from1980s. In 1992, Tiantong Ecological Research Station of Department of Environmental Science, ECNU was set up. TINAS became a member of China National Ecosystem Observation and Research Network (CNERN).     Tiantong National Forest Ecosystem Observation and Research Station (TINAS) is located in Tiantong National Forest Park (29°48' N, 121°47'E, 200 m a.s.l.), Ningbong city, Zhejiang province, China. This area is characterized by a subtropical monsoon climate with a hot, humid summer, and a cold, dry winter. The annual mean temperature is 16.2oC, and the average annual precipitation is 1374.7mm concentrated from May to August. The site is characterized by canopy trees of Schima superba, Lithocarpus glaber and Symplocos sumuntia at a height of 12-20 m. The soil texture is mainly medium-heavy loam.       

报告人：胡水金 教授主持人：陈小勇 教授时  间：2014年12月18日（周四）上午10:00地  点：闵行校区资环楼435室报告人简介：胡水金教授于美国佐治亚大学获生态学博士，之后在加州大学戴维斯分校和加州大学伯克利分校从事博士后研究。1999年9月起先后任北卡罗来纳州立大学助理教授、副教授及教授。长期研究植物与微生物相互作用、土壤生态过程及其对全球环境变化的响应，在微生物调控陆地生态系统碳氮循环方面获得重要结果，并提出几种新的重要见解或假说。近年来，他的团队首次在田间利用稳定性碳氮同位素研究丛枝菌根真菌对碳氮循环的影响，提出了在大气CO2浓度升高的情况下丛枝菌根影响土壤碳氮动态的新假说。在Nature、Science、Trend in Ecology & Evolution、Ecology Letters等SCI期刊发表研究论文60余篇。曾获得美国植物病理学会杰出青年科学家奖和中国国家自然科学基金委员会海外杰青。现为美国生态学会亚洲分会会长, PLoS One和Journal of Plant Ecology编委。报告简介：生态系统在全球气候变化的响应是当前生态学研究的研究热点，该报告将探讨微生物在这种响应的调节及其机制。

    1.To investigate the structure, process and dynamics of (Evergreen Broad Leaf Forest) EBLF, including the ecological mechanism of biodiversity and species co-occurrence in EBLF, the ecological mechanism of secondary succession in EBLF, the co-evolution relationship between plant and insect, etc.    2.To investigate the response of ecosystem process in EBLF to regional environmental changes including extreme drought, nitrogen deposition and acid rain, etc.    3.To develop vegetation restoration techniques including young forest tending and biochar addition, etc.
