报告内容简介:
Forests are an important natural resource and provide ecosystem goods and services to our society. This seminar will discuss two related topics. One topic is about the progress in estimating forest areas from satellite-based remote sensing and the uncertainty of available forest area data products. The other topic is about the progress in quantifying the relationships between forest area and vegetation aboveground biomass in the subtropical and tropical regions, using satellite-based remote sensing data. It will highlight the results from several recent papers published in Nature Sustainability, Nature Plants and Nature Communications journals.
