报告人简介：

Shaopeng Wang is currently a Bo-Ya professor at the Institute of Ecology, College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University. His research develops new theory and conducts theory-driven empirical analysis to understand the causes and consequences of biodiversity loss in spatial and multitrophic ecosystems. He serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including Ecological Monographs, Ecology Letters, etc.

报告内容介绍：

While biodiversity is known to enhance the temporal stability of ecosystem functioning, this insight is largely derived from studies conducted at small spatial scales and over short time periods. Whether these stabilizing effects persist across ex-panding scales remains elusive. In this talk, I will address this gap by developing new theoretical frameworks to unravel diver-sity-stability relationships across spatial and temporal scales. I will test predictions from these frameworks using empirical data from different taxa. Finally, I will share our ongoing work which seek to bridge the cause and consequences of biodiversity by integrating coexistence theory with diversity-stability research.
